GM Sergey Shipov’s live commentary on the Aronian – Kramnik match

In the run-up to the Anand – Gelfand World Championship match Vladimir Kramnik and Levon Aronian, ranked numbers 2 and 3 on the rating list, played a six-game match in Zurich.

It finished drawn after an exciting and extremely high quality battle that took place in a friendly atmosphere. Sergey Shipov commentated live on each game for Crestbook, and I translated his commentary live at ChessVibes. Below you’ll find a game viewer in which you can play through all the games with commentary, as well as links to the reports at ChessVibes and the original Russian commentary.

In the viewer below you can click the main moves, or the analysis in blue, to see the position on the board. The keyboard arrow keys can also be used to navigate through the moves. The viewer works in most browsers, though it seems to work better in Google Chrome than, for instance, in Internet Explorer.
